As reported by Zillows which is a company that provides online real estate values recently found that 1 out of 7 homeowners owe more on their mortgage than their homes are worth. Out of the 163 metro areas tracked by Zillows, 30 had GAINS during the first 3 quarters of the year compared to the same 2007 quarters.

As we have been trying to keep our clients up beat by informing them that most of the terrible doom & gloom reporting everynight about the awful real estate market were places like California, Las Vegas, etc. and not King, North Carolina. In fact according to this latest report from zillows all of the top five worst performing markets are in California. THREE OF THE FIVE BEST PERFORMING MARKETS ARE IN OUR HOME STATE OF NC. The best performing housing markets during the same period were Jacksonville, NC (up 4.9%) WINSTON SALEM, NC (UP 4.1%) Anderson, SC (3.5%) State College, Pa (3.4%) and Burlington, NC (UP 3.1%)

In my opinion, this good news also affects King, NC only being a few minutes away from Winston Salem, and hey, given the choice between living in Winston Salem or King, You know where this homegrown Stokes County boy will pick.
